Description

Camille, Etienne and Victor have been producing hops since 2021 in Balignicourt (Aube, 10), organically since 2023.

They grow Magnum, an organic bittering variety, which has shown good adaptation to the climatic conditions of eastern France.

Magnum is a bittering hop variety that is very popular with both professional and amateur brewers.

Created by the German hop institute at Hull, Magnum was launched on the market in 1980, first in Europe and then in the USA.

It is derived from a cross with Galena and a wild German hop (“75/5/3”).

Sometimes called “Hallertauer Magnum”, it is now grown on just under 10% of the hop-growing area in Europe.

Appreciated by growers, Magnum has good disease resistance and excellent yields.

Use it for bittering, thanks to its high alpha acids (10-16%), but also for aroma, where it gives notes of:

  • Green apple,
  • Green peppercorn
  • Lemony.
  • Mint
  • Fresh grass

Use Magnum hop pellets for ales, lagers, pale ales and Belgian ales.
