Sell your hops on Brewstock

Brewstock sells your hops to brewers, in its own name, and collects the payments. Your name appears on every product page. Every month, you receive a statement of your paid sales.

Your account opens in a few minutes. Nothing is put on sale before the Brewstock team has approved it and the grower contract is signed.

How it works

  1. You open your seller account

In a few minutes: your farm (SIRET, address, VAT number), your business IBAN, your organic certificate if applicable.

  2. You upload your stock

A photo of your notebook, your spreadsheet or the table on your screen: your batches are pre-filled, you check them. Add analyses and certificates, now or later.

  3. The Brewstock team approves and puts on sale

The Brewstock team checks your account and each batch, and you sign the grower contract. Your hops are then presented to brewers with your name; Brewstock sells in its own name, collects the payment and issues the invoice.

  4. You ship, you get paid

You receive the label by email and drop off the parcel. Every month: statement of paid sales, your invoice, then bank transfer.

The terms

Here are the essentials; the grower contract sets them out in detail.

Brewstock is a brand of the company HOPSTOCK (SASU, SIREN 838 136 794), which signs the contracts and issues the invoices.

What Brewstock does

  • Sells your hops in its own name, on your behalf (sale on commission, article L132-1 of the French Commercial Code).
  • Shows your name on every product page, as the origin of the hops.
  • Collects the customer’s payment, issues the invoice and is answerable to the customer for the sale, including the legal guarantees.
  • Provides the shipping label for each parcel, via Sendcloud.
  • Sends you a monthly statement of your paid sales, then pays your invoice by bank transfer.

What the grower does

  • Signs the grower contract and provides bank details (RIB) in their business’s name.
  • Offers hops that meet the quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares and ships the parcel for their products, with the label received by email.
  • Draws up their monthly invoice to Brewstock, based on the statement.
  • Does not enter into any sales contract with the site’s customers: Brewstock is the only seller.

Your earnings

Brewstock earns a commission of 10% of the selling price excluding VAT of your products. It is due only on paid sales. Shipping, paid by the customer, is not included in this calculation.

Example for a sale of 160,00 € excl. VAT
Selling price of your products 160,00 € excl. VAT
Brewstock commission (10%) − 16,00 € excl. VAT
Your invoice to Brewstock 144,00 € excl. VAT

Every month, Brewstock sends you a statement of your paid sales. You draw up your invoice from this statement; Brewstock pays it by bank transfer within 45 days of its date at the latest. No online payment account is required.

Shipping

  • For each paid order, Brewstock creates the Sendcloud label for your parcel and emails it to you, with the list of products to prepare.
  • Each grower ships a separate parcel: an order from several growers goes out in several parcels.
  • The customer pays the shipping and receives the tracking number by email.
  • Fresh hops: Chronopost Chrono 10 only, according to the brew date given by the customer.

Where to drop off the parcel

  • Mondial Relayat a Mondial Relay relay point
  • Colissimoat a post office or La Poste drop-off point
  • Chronopostat a post office or Pickup relay point

3-harvest supply contracts

3-harvest supply contracts are currently being trialled with a small number of partner growers. They will be gradually opened to all growers.

Brewers use them to reserve a variety and an annual volume, 50 kg minimum, for three harvests, at a price fixed when ordering. First delivery: paid when ordering if the hops are in stock; otherwise, a 20% deposit when ordering and the balance debited on 30 October. Following deliveries: automatic direct debit every 30 October.

If the harvest does not allow all or part of the reserved quantity to be delivered (frost, hail, drought, disease), the customer is informed and is not invoiced for the quantity not delivered.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sign up online?

Yes, with the “Open a seller account” button. You fill in your farm’s details and upload your stock straight away. Nothing is put on sale before the Brewstock team has approved your account and the grower contract is signed.

What information about my farm is requested, and why?

The company name, the SIRET number, the registered office address, the EU VAT number if applicable, the IBAN of the account that receives your payments and, for a sole proprietorship, the farmer’s date of birth. Every year, Brewstock reports to the tax authorities the identity of the site’s sellers and the amount of their sales (EU rules known as DAC7). This information is never published; your IBAN is stored encrypted.

Who is the seller for the customer?

Brewstock, the only seller: it sells the growers’ hops in its own name, on their behalf. The grower’s name appears on each product page to show the origin of the hops; it does not make the grower the seller.

Do I need an online payment account?

No. Brewstock collects the customers’ payments and pays you by bank transfer. All you need is bank details (RIB) in your business’s name.

Who handles customer complaints?

Brewstock, as the seller, is answerable to the customer for the conformity of the products and for hidden defects, including for products harvested by partner growers.

How are fresh hops sold?

It is a seasonal product, offered only during the harvest. It ships by Chronopost Chrono 10 only. The customer gives their brew date when ordering, so that the grower can organise picking and shipping.

What happens if the customer orders from several growers?

Each grower prepares and ships the parcel for their products, with its own label. The customer pays shipping per grower, calculated by weight.

Do you grow hops?

Present it to brewers, with your name on every product page.
